Our CEO speaking at GANNI’s 1st Internal DEI talk

December 7th our CEO and Founder Aram Ostadian-Binai joined a talk as speaker for GANNI’s first DEI internal talk and workshop.

GANNI’s CEO Andrea Baldo opened the event by sharing about his vision for GANNI when it comes to becoming even more diverse and inclusive as an organisation. Later on Priya Matadeen, Chief Brand Officer presented upcoming DEI initiatives DEI, and the first step being the internal talk for ALL of GANNI employees across locations; Denmark, UK, USA and beyond.

The conversation both looked into the personal journey of how Aran got to be where she is now by sharing from her own personal experiences. As well as when and how she was made more aware of issues related to race and identity. Later a dip dive into examples and best practices to tackle microaggressions in the workplace as well as microaggression.

To the questions of how Aram envision the future of diversity and inclusion in fashion, she replied: “Of course I want to see diverse campaigns and runways, but don’t show me those to tell me we are diverse! I want to see CEOs being women and women of colour or POC! Show me your race/ethnic/gender inclusive C-level team. Top down DEI is the future!”

The talk was moderated by Fatima Fecha former Collection Merchandiser at Ganni who is now heading to Celine in Paris, and other speakers that day were the talented Manilla Ghafuri, and Mary Consolata Namagambe.
